There’s no shortage of celebrity engagement stories this year, and Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett are celebrating in style! Or should we say racing to the altar!?
Both Stewart and Pruett are professional race car drivers. He’s a Nascar champion, while she is an NHRA drag racer!

It’s a perfect match made on the track for these two. Let’s take a closer look at this duo of racing legends.
Tony Stewart
Stewart, 50 is a professional Nascar driver champion. He won the cup series in 2002, 2005, and 2011. In addition he co-owns Superstar Racing Experience and a Nascar racing team, Stewart-Haas Racing.
His decorated racing career spans decades after initially winning go kart races very early on. Now he’s a semi-retired Nascar and Indycar Series champion several times over.
Leah Pruett
Pruett, 33 is a professional drag racer for Don Schumacher Racing. She currently drives a NHRA Top Fuel dragster.
Her career highlights include:
- NHRA SAMTech Factory Stock Showdown champion in 2019
- only female drag racing champion of DSR’s series
- 11 total event wins
How did Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett Meet?
The couple met in 2019 through NHRA icon Don Prudhommer, a mutual acquaintance. It was relationship official as of 2020, where reportedly the couple spent the entire year quarantined together.
It was obviously a great year for the couple. “My personal life is the best it’s ever been, by far,” Stewart shared with The Associated Press in January.
Stewart was previously engaged to Playboy Playmate Pennelope Jimenez, while Pruett was married to NHRA crew member Gary Pritchett.
The Engagement Story
Full proposal details have yet to be released, but the couple shared their news on social media. They each gushed about one another in separate posts.
Stewart posted on Twitter:
“So excited to spend the rest of my life with a truly amazing woman,” Stewart wrote. “She’s motivated, hard working, funny as hell, and as dedicated to her sport as anyone I’ve ever known. Love you babe.”

Alternatively, Pruett shared the news on Instagram:
“The undeniable level of love, happiness, and soulfulness we have together is monumental,” Pruett wrote. “He might run in circles, but is the straightest shooter and the salt of this earth… looking forward to a lifetime of sunrises and sunsets that the Lord has gifted us together. Love you babe!”

The Engagement Ring
Leah Pruett rocks a massive emerald cut diamond ring from new fiancé Tony Stewart!
The diamond ring looks to feature a simple platinum band and a flawless 4 to 5 carat diamond. A ring of that size and carat shape could be worth up to six figures depending on gemstone quality and specific characteristics.
Emerald cut engagement rings have been very popular over the last few years. Other celeb engagements with emerald cut diamonds include Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews, Kat Dennings & Andrew W.K., and Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich.
