Rolex Perpetual 1908

The Perpetual 1908 is a new Rolex model and a unique timepiece that embodies the best of Rolex’s tradition and innovation. This exceptional watch is named after the year when Rolex was officially registered in Switzerland.

The Perpetual 1908 is a departure from traditional watches, with a slimmer and more modern design that is inspired by an Oyster Perpetual from 1931. This new Rolex model marks the beginning of the Perpetual collection, which seeks to redefine the conventional wristwatch with a contemporary flair.

Despite its avant-garde appearance, the Perpetual 1908 still adheres to the principles of watchmaking that have made Rolex a respected name in the industry. The watch has important components that make it highly accurate and reliable, ensuring that it keeps accurate time.

Rolex has a long history of making exceptional watches, and the Perpetual 1908, as a new Rolex model, is no exception. This new addition to the Rolex family is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence and its passion for pushing the boundaries of watchmaking innovation.

The Perpetual 1908 offers a fresh take on an old design. With its 3, 9, and 12 numerals and a small second hand at 6 o’clock, the watch pays homage to the style of an Oyster Perpetual from 1931, but with a modern twist.

The dial of the Perpetual 1908 is both elegant and sophisticated, with faceted hour markers in 18 KT yellow or white gold set against a black or white background. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal and features a delicate ‘railroad’ minute track around the circumference.

The minute hand on the watch is shaped like a two-edged sword, adding to the watch’s sleek and modern appearance. The hour hand is marked by a hand with a pierced circle, a unique touch that sets the Perpetual 1908 apart from other watches.

The case design is modern and stylish, made from 18 KT yellow or white gold, and is particularly slim in size. The watch has a transparent case back that allows you to admire the exquisite quality of the movement finishings. The oscillating weight is cut out of 18 KT yellow gold, and the decoration features the Rolex Côtes de Genève pattern, which is a traditional watchmaking decoration that has been reinterpreted with the addition of a polished groove between each band.

Rolex has developed a brand-new self-winding movement, calibre 7140, to power the Perpetual 1908 watch. The movement is fitted with two center hands and a small second hand at 6 o’clock, and is incredibly slim, with the case thickness reduced by a third compared to other watches in the Oyster Perpetual collection.

To ensure optimal performance, the movement is equipped with the Syloxi hairspring, Chronergy escapement, and Paraflex shock absorbers, providing a power reserve of approximately 66 hours and chronometric accuracy of –2/+2 seconds per day. The new movement was designed to meet the stringent Superlative Chronometer demands of precision and reliability, making it a reliable and high-performance choice for watch enthusiasts.

The strap is leather and the dualclasp is 18kt white or yellow gold. Overall, the new design of the Perpetual 1908 showcases Rolex’s commitment to innovation and style. By combining classic elements with modern touches, Rolex has created a watch that is both timeless and contemporary, appealing to a wide range of watch enthusiasts.

Rolex Sky-Dweller

The Sky-Dweller has welcomed back 18 ct white gold with a bright black dial. This is paired, for the first time, with an Oysterflex bracelet, which is equipped with an Oysterclasp and Glidelock extension system for added comfort.

New dial colors have been introduced for the Sky-Dweller, including a delicate mint green on the white Rolesor versions, and an elegant blue green exclusively on the reference in 18 ct Everose gold fitted on an Oyster bracelet.

The Sky-Dweller watch features a new Ring Command system that serves as an interface between the rotatable bezel, winding crown, and movement. This system allows the wearer to select and set the timepiece’s functions easily, quickly, and securely.

To use the Ring Command system, the wearer simply turns the fluted bezel counterclockwise by one, two, or three positions, selecting the desired function before adjusting it with the winding crown. The first position is for the calendar, the second for local time, and the third for reference time.

The 2023 version of the Sky-Dweller watch is powered by the calibre 9002 movement, which is a derivation of the original calibre 9001 that has been driving the model since its launch in 2012. The calibre 9002 is one of the most complex movements ever designed by Rolex engineers and features the latest technical innovations that the brand has brought to its movements, including the Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a new oscillating weight with an optimized ball bearing.

This movement enables the display of hours, minutes, seconds, the date, and the month, as well as an additional time zone in 24-hour format.

The 950-platinum version of the Daytona, with the recognizable ice blue dial features a transparent case back in sapphire. The 2023 version of the Cosmograph Daytona watch is powered by the brand new calibre 4131 movement, which has been entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. This impressive new chronograph movement is an evolution of the original calibre 4130.

Introduced in 2023, the calibre 4131 features the innovative Chronergy escapement, which reduces energy loss and offers several other advantages. The Paraflex shock absorbers protect the heart of the movement, while an optimized ball bearing enhances self-winding.

The calibre 4131 also features a new aesthetic for the brand, with a cut-out oscillating weight and an exclusive Rolex Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges.
