The Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 meets Tiffany & Co.
The Rolex and Tiffany & Co. partnership was fun for the few decades it lasted. Ending in the early 1990’s, co-branded watches like the Sea-Dweller 1665 are rare, often bringing higher auction prices than other vintage Rolex pieces.
These Rolex Sea-Dwellers were produced throughout the early 1980’s and retailed by Tiffany & Co. The Tiffany branded dials were stamped at both Rolex and Tiffany service centers, often causing inconsistencies and making this vintage model easily counterfeited.
Even still, authentic Sea-Dwellers with the Tiffany & Co. dial are extremely valuable and mark a powerful era shared by two iconic brands.

Sea-Dweller History
The technology of the Sea-Dweller began nearly a century ago, when Rolex founder Hans Wildorf named the first waterproof wrist watch ‘Oyster’.
The Sea-Dweller was designed for professional deep-sea divers and was outfitted with the helium escape valve in 1967, allowing the watch to withstand immense pressure changes while keeping its waterproof capability.
The Sea-Dweller has accompanied several history making dives, including the Bathyscaphe Trieste and the DEEPSEA CHALLENGE expeditions, both times withstanding brutal deep sea conditions.
A new era for Sea-Dwellers
The ‘Great White’ 1665 model began a new, stand-alone era for Sea-Dwellers, with the updated white text from its original crimson red and removal of the Submariner 2000 designation on the dial.
The classic Sea-Dweller reference 1665 can be separated into four distinct series, often referred to as ‘Mark’ or ‘MK’ and each one with subtle differences in dial design. The addition of Tiffany & Co. to select dials created a rare and highly pursued collectible item.
