Harry Winston Belle

I have always been a Harry Winston girl. While I love Tiffany and Co., Cartier and Tacori, my first love will always win. I am a “Harry girl” true to that core. Having seen thousands of engagement ring designs, I always revert back to the Harry Winston Classic as my favorite ring. I love every diamond cut in this style, but if I really had to pick, it would be 3 carat emerald Harry Winston Classic for me.

I was talking about this design with a friend of mine; when she mentioned the Harry Winston Belle ring, also know as the Gossip Girl ring. I had forgotten about this ring. It is a true stunner. A round brilliant diamond set in a pointed halo; you just don’t see this ring out that often. It is not a surprise that this ring was the one chosen for the Gossip Girl engagement.

The whole conversation got me thinking about other famous movies and shows that used Harry Winston as the starring ring. In Gossip Girl alone, they use two different Harry Winston designs – the Belle and HW Classic. I did some digging and this is what I found, courtesy of the fashion spot.

If you are a Sex in the City fan, than you know that Aiden (Carrie’s first engagement) gave her two rings. The first, a gold pear cut diamond that she absolutely hated. Later upgrading it to a Harry Winston Classic (my favorite) 3 carat, emerald cut. I was always an Aiden supporter, but if you know the show/movie, than you know she ends up with Mr. Big and a black diamond.

Charlotte (of Sex and the City), also received a Harry Winston Classic. Her ring from Harry (her boyfriend, not Harry Winston) was a 5 carat, asscher cut diamond, which was modeled after the famous 33 carat ring Robert Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor.
