A few months ago Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney, her NYC gallerist beau, announced their engagement. They’ve kept a rather private relationship to this point, but we’ve seen the bling and it’s G.O.O.D. The ring encompasses several recent trends we love.
The Couple: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney

What can we say about Academy Award winner and Hunger Games hero Jennifer Lawrence? She’s one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, but one of the most relatable with her girl next door, laid back vibes.
It’s no surprise she’s engaged to Cooke Maroney, a New York City based art gallery director. The Facebook and Twitterless Maroney grew up on a farm in Vermont, before following in his father’s footsteps and graduating from NYU with an art history degree.
Maroney and Lawrence met through a mutual friend in 2018. They were photographed walking together in NYC, and again a few months later vacationing in Paris and Rome. They reportedly moved in together after just two months. The pair has otherwise flown mostly under the radar until a date night in February. On that night Jennifer was spotted wearing a massive ring.
The two haven’t spoken publicly on the relationship…yet. Sources close to the couple told People magazine Lawrence was happier than she’s ever been.
The Engagement Story
No one knows how Maroney popped the question. We’re guessing it was a very private and romantic night in. At least that’s what we’d put our money on.
Page Six reported that friends and family came together to celebrate the engagement of Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney at a Brooklyn restaurant. The couple rented out River Cafe and served hors d’oeuvres and Mandarin duck to guests seated in the dining room, terrace room and on the outdoor patio.
Lawrence and Maroney have been spotted around NYC looking at wedding venues. Sources guess the wedding will be a simple, private affair as well.
The Ring

Onlookers first saw Jen’s engagement ring while she was dining out with girl friends in New York. She officially debuted the ring at the Dior fashion show in Paris a few days later. The ring features an emerald cut diamond on a petit white gold or platinum band with a four prong solitaire mounting.

Diamond experts and gemologists believe the diamond to be four to five carats and worth around $200,000.

Petit bands with a larger, solo diamond have been popular for the past few years, and we don’t see the trend going away anytime soon. The thin band ensures all the focus is on that beautiful, glimmering, natural center stone. Jennifer’s ring is a classic example. Oh, and guess what other Jennifer just got engaged with a huge emerald cut sparkler!? J-Lo and A-Rod!
