Breitling – The Pilot’s Watch
Breitling watches have the reputation of being reliable and precise. There is a reason why Breitling is the choice watch of the aviation industry, where accuracy and precision could mean life or death.
In 1930s, the Royal Air Force selected Breitling as the watch for their propeller fighter pilots to use during their flights in World War II. This has lead to the slogan of “Authentic Partner of Aviation”, which is still used by Breitling today.
In 1884, Leon Breitling dedicated his life to mastering chronographs and timers. This passion lead to the invention of the chronograph pushpiece in 1915, which separated the start/stop feature from the basic functionality of the watch and allowed the user to time anything with precision and accuracy. This is why the watch has been a favorite among pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
“A cult object for pilots and aviation enthusiasts, it has been continuously manufactured for almost 60 years – making it the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production.” –Breitling
