The Tiffany Novo engagement ring is one of the most highly requested engagement rings this year. Featuring a brilliant cushion-cut diamond, this ring is delicate, beautiful and classic. What many people don’t know about this ring is that it was inspired by the 128.54- carat Tiffany Diamond, a diamond that has been worn by only two women in this lifetime, Mrs. Sheldon Whitehouse and Ms. Audry Hepburn.
128.54 Carat Tiffany Diamond
The Tiffany Diamond is the largest yellow diamond ever discovered. When it was originally discovered in 1878, the weight was 287.42 carat. It was later cut into a cushion shape of 128.54 carat. To maximize the beauty and brilliance of the diamond, the cushion cut used featured 32 more facets than the traditional 58 facets used in a common cushion cut. The Tiffany Yellow Diamond has had only one owner, Charles Tiffany. In 2007, is was featured at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C., making it the largest diamond ever to be on display in North America.
