The Best Places To Propose In Houston!

It’s well documented that the holiday season, specifically Christmas Eve, is the most popular time for a proposal. We always see a spike in engagement ring sales and custom designs during the last few weeks of November and the beginning of December! One of the most common questions we get this time of year is: Where are best places to propose in Houston?

We’re not going to lie to you – there is a ton of work that goes into pulling off a successful proposal. What you are going to wear, what the ring looks like (we think that’s the most important factor!), and how you deliver the proposal is just a part of the equation. Where the proposal happens is huge.

Fortunately, the greater Houston area has several incredible proposal locations to choose from! Whether it’s downtown, midtown, or all the way into League City, you can’t go wrong.

Here are the 5 best places to propose in Houston:

5) The Galleria

best places to propose in Houston

As one of the most popular destinations in downtown Houston, the Galleria is packed with upscale stores and restaurants, including romantic restaurants that are perfect for a dinner proposal (Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and 51 Fifteen to name a few).

Our favorite proposal spot in the Galleria is their ice rink – “Ice at the Galleria Houston”. During the holidays it features an incredible Christmas tree that could serve as the perfect backdrop for a proposal!

4) A Downtown Carriage Ride

Not many proposal locations say unique like a horse drawn carriage. There are several companies in Houston that provide this romantic service, and many provide carriage customizations and several options for carriage styles. A moonlit ride in the heart of downtown would be a proposal she would never forget!

3) Kemah Boardwalk

best places to propose in Houston

Located about 30 minutes away from downtown Houston in League City, Texas, the Kemah Boardwalk sits right at the opening of Galveston Bay. It has an old-school carnival feel and features rides, classic boardwalk games, and several restaurants right on the water. The boardwalk is always beautifully lit up during the holidays!

2) Herman Park

best places to propose in Houston

Out of all of the proposal spots on this list, Herman Park has the most options hands down. Some of it’s beautiful locations include:

  • The Bill Coats Bridge
  • Lake Overlook and Molly Anne Smith Plaza
  • Lykes Grove
  • Marvin Taylor Trail
  • The Mary Gibbs and Jesse H. Jones Reflection Pool
  • Centennial Gardens
  • Mecom Fountain
  • Japanese Garden

You can’t go wrong by choosing any one of these areas to pop the question!

1) Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park

best places to propose in Houston

The waterwall park is one of the most romantic and spectacular locations in the greater Houston area! The park features an expansive lawn nestled between high-rise buildings and live oak trees, and of course the epic waterwall itself! We really think this is one of the best places to propose in Houston.

The center area of the circular waterwall is the perfect place to propose, but plan to have someone with a camera ready – this place makes for incredible pictures. Also keep in mind, windy days might mean lots of mist from the wall, so be sure to check the weather!
