The past decade has seen a rise in women investing in men’s luxury watches. We’re talking about women buying men’s watches because they love to wear them, NOT as gifts for their male significant others.
We’re noticing a common theme between the men’s watches that women love to wear:
- They are larger than watches specifically designed for women.
- Simplicity is key. Not a lot of bling or wild colors.
- They make great investment pieces.
- The watches are practical, yet make a statement.
Women are tired of traditionally designed, feminine watches, therefore they’re seeking out watches once created just for men. The dainty, gemstone clad and mother of pearl watches from the past aren’t doing it for today’s powerful females.
Brands have taken notice. Lady Gaga became Tudor’s first female ambassador in 2017, alongside David Beckham. They promoted the brand’s “Born to Dare” Campaign, which celebrated the history of Tudor and its parent company, Rolex.

Most Popular Men’s Watches that Women Love to Wear
Tudor Black Bay

The Tudor watch company was born after Rolex’s creator, Hans Wildorf chose to offer Rolex quality watches at a more affordable price. The Tudor Black Bay is a modern dive watch inspired by the Rolex Submariner.
Black Bays come in all shapes, colors, and sizes but it’s the sleek design and straight forward Tudor statement that women love. They’re easy on the bank account as well.

Rolex Submariner

Ladies love stealing their man’s Submariners. We would know. We catch our significant other’s donning our Subs all the time. And we can’t blame them. The Submariner allure is too strong for anyone to deny.
Not only is the Submariner one of the most recognizable Rolex models in the world, it’s one of the most practical. They pair perfectly with just about anything– from swim suits to workout gear to business attire.
Today’s woman also recognizes the significance of owning a Submariner. It’s an investment piece that will likely mature in value over the years.
Rolex Daytona

A-list female celebrities are all about the Rolex Daytona. Yes, it’s somewhat of a status symbol, but there are some legitimate female Rolex collectors out there.
Women love wearing the Rolex Daytona because of its classic design and universal appeal. Like the Submariner, it pairs well with nearly everything and it’s another good investment.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

Women who favor a bolder look tend to gravitate toward the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. The iconic octagonal shape and the “Grande Tapisserie” pattern are unmistakeable. The Royal Oak’s unique design disrupted the sports watch scene back in 1972, and similarly, powerful women want a watch just as innovative as they are.
For the record, Audemars Piguet has released several versions of the Royal Oak in its women’s collection that feature smaller dials. But women agree there’s just something about wearing the original design that feels more authentic.

IWC Portofino

The IWC Portofino was originally released in 1984 as a ‘pocket watch for the wrist.’
This classic style has been popular with men and women for sometime. The brand does have a women’s line, but we’ve seen the men’s IWC Portofino on more women lately due to its clean lines, sleek design, and oversized elegance.
