This past Monday, the annual Met Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and as always, the stars brought it with their extraordinary ensembles and over the top jewelry pieces.
Sometimes referred to as the “Oscars of the East” due to its star caliber, the Met Gala is a black-tie event held the first Monday of May to benefit the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ticket costs started at $30,000 for a single seat.
The 2018 Costume Institute’s “Heavenly Bodies” exhibition at the Met features a variety of iconic fashion labels, from Chanel to Dolce & Gabbana, and showcases Catholicism’s influence and inspiration on the industry.
The somewhat controversial Gala theme this year was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and the looks were nothing less than celestial with celebrities, models and fashion icons adorning diamond draped crosses, bejeweled rosaries, and custom-made secular inspired headdresses.
While our ladies were wowed by the religious and medieval-era undertone dress of the evening, it’s the bling us guys live for. And there was PLENTY. We saw vintage Cartier, champagne diamonds galore and a 50-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond.
These were our favorite red carpet showstoppers and their jewelry from the 2018 Met Gala:
Famous human rights attorney, Clooney and Met Gala co-chair, Amal Clooney is stunning in her full train and navy, satin pants, but our favorite part of her outfit are those floral diamond statement earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.

Once again fashion goddess and Gala co-chair, Rihanna completely wins the night with her take on the “Heavenly Bodies” theme, paying homage to the pope with her gemstone, bead, and pearl encrusted ensemble. A vintage 1934 Cartier crucifix pendant completes the look.

Supermodel and reality TV personality, Kendall Jenner sported a muted solid white, off the shoulder combo, but the Paper Flowers diamond earrings by Tiffany & Co. provided exactly enough interest. Just last week Jenner attended the Paper Flowers event at Tiffany’s in New York for the launch of their new Believe in Dreams campaign.

The famous American model flawlessly embodied the Catholic imagination look in a stained glass-inspired Versace dress and over $5 million dollars of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, including 50-carat champagne and pink diamond earrings.
Movie and television actress Blake Lively stole the show in a Versace gown fit for royalty and $2 million dollars’ worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. The brand outfitted her in ruby rings, custom made Columbian emerald and diamond dagger earrings, and a stunning custom made halo with over 100 carats of champagne diamonds.
